Deep in one of the most untouched corners of the Congo, a team of researchers set up trail cameras hoping to spot one of the world’s rarest and most elusive species. The cameras had only been running for a week when the footage came in, and what they found was beyond anything they could have imagined.

In the grainy clip, a man appears crawling through the dense jungle beside a massive silverback gorilla.

On his back, a baby gorilla clings to him tightly, not out of fear, but with the kind of trust only found within a family. At first, researchers thought it had to be a hoax. But experts analyzing the video now believe this could be the same boy who vanished from a nearby village years ago, presumed lost forever.

“The way the troop moves with him, they accept him,” one researcher said. “For a baby to ride on his back like that, it means he’s one of them.

An update has been shared by the family of Chris Palmer the Arkansas man who went missing off the coast of North Carolina along with his dog Zoey. In a message posted by his father, the family said they have asked for all active search efforts to stop. They explained they recently learned Chris had been dealing with a terminal medical condition, which they believe helps explain the choices he made while traveling alone. According to the family, personal items connected to Chris were later found along the shoreline. Based on that discovery, they believe he entered the ocean. The family also thanked the United Cajun Navy, first responders, volunteers, and community members who took part in the search, saying the support shown by people who never knew Chris personally meant a great deal to them.  They asked that his memory be respected as they focus on closure.

That same day, her body was examined. It was found that she had suffered serious injuries to her head and neck before being strangled to death about 48 hours before her body was found. Despite many years of hard work by investigators, the identity of the Buckskin Girl remained unknown for over 30 years. On April 9, 2018, the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory announced that they had identified the woman as 21-year-old Marcia Lenore King from Little Rock, Arkansas. Marcia had last been seen by her family in 1980. Although she wasn’t officially reported missing, her family had kept searching for her. The identification was made possible by detailed DNA testing. Since he wasn’t properly dressed for the weather, the clerk at the store gave Callens a drink, a coat, and a black shirt with yellow writing on it. The clerk also allowed him to charge his phone.
