 In 1988, Officer Gary Dockery, a police officer from Walden, Tennessee, was sh*t in the head while responding to a domestic dispute. The g*nshot caused severe brain damage, and he fell into a coma that lasted over seven years. 



Then, in February 1996, to everyone’s amazement, Dockery suddenly woke up and began speaking clearly with his family and friends. He recognized his loved ones, recalled old memories, and expressed his love for his sons.

Doctors described his brief recovery as nothing short of a medical miracle, as such awakenings after long-term comas are extremely rare.

 Sadly, just 18 hours later, Dockery slipped back into unconsciousness and never woke again. He passed away in 1997 due to complications from pneumonia. His story remains one of the most remarkable and emotional cases of temporary recovery from a prolonged coma in medical history.

An update has been shared by the family of Chris Palmer the Arkansas man who went missing off the coast of North Carolina along with his dog Zoey. In a message posted by his father, the family said they have asked for all active search efforts to stop. They explained they recently learned Chris had been dealing with a terminal medical condition, which they believe helps explain the choices he made while traveling alone. According to the family, personal items connected to Chris were later found along the shoreline. Based on that discovery, they believe he entered the ocean. The family also thanked the United Cajun Navy, first responders, volunteers, and community members who took part in the search, saying the support shown by people who never knew Chris personally meant a great deal to them.  They asked that his memory be respected as they focus on closure.

That same day, her body was examined. It was found that she had suffered serious injuries to her head and neck before being strangled to death about 48 hours before her body was found. Despite many years of hard work by investigators, the identity of the Buckskin Girl remained unknown for over 30 years. On April 9, 2018, the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory announced that they had identified the woman as 21-year-old Marcia Lenore King from Little Rock, Arkansas. Since he wasn’t properly dressed for the weather, the clerk at the store gave Callens a drink, a coat, and a black shirt with yellow writing on it. The clerk also allowed him to charge his phone.
