An update has been shared by the family of Chris Palmer the Arkansas man who went missing off the coast of North Carolina along with his dog Zoey.

In a message posted by his father, the family said they have asked for all active search efforts to stop. They explained they recently learned Chris had been dealing with a terminal medical condition, which they believe helps explain the choices he made while traveling alone.

According to the family, personal items connected to Chris were later found along the shoreline. Based on that discovery, they believe he entered the ocean.

The family also thanked the United Cajun Navy, first responders, volunteers, and community members who took part in the search, saying the support shown by people who never knew Chris personally meant a great deal to them.

They asked that his memory be respected as they focus on closure.

She Went to Indonesia Looking for Adventure — Then Mount Rinjani Became Her Final Journey

Image
She Went to Indonesia Looking for Adventure — Then Mount Rinjani Became Her Final Journey Mount Rinjani was supposed to be another unforgettable chapter in Juliana Marins’s journey through the world. Instead, the mountain became the place where her life ended. Juliana was only 26 years old when she traveled to Indonesia, carrying the same curiosity that had taken her to unfamiliar places before. She had gone there to experience something new, to explore, and to create memories that she would eventually take home with her. But on Mount Rinjani, everything changed. What began as an adventure turned into a desperate rescue operation after Juliana fell on the mountain. The difficult terrain and remote location made the effort to reach her extraordinarily challenging, while her family and people following the story waited anxiously for news. Eventually, the search ended in tragedy. Juliana did not return home. Her death devastated her family and friends, while countless strangers ar...

"MY MIL WENT CRAZY AFTER I GAVE BIRTH — SHE ENDED UP STEALING MY DOG!

Image
"MY MIL WENT CRAZY AFTER I GAVE BIRTH — SHE ENDED UP STEALING MY DOG! Ever since I had my baby, my MIL has lost her mind! We were never best friends, but this was madness. She would show up EVERY. SINGLE. DAY! I tell you, she nitchpicked everything I did with little Sophie. But the worst part? Our dog. Bear, our Newfoundland, is the sweetest, most gentle baby ever. He's super careful with Sophie, and we're always watching. But my MIL kept going off about how we needed to get rid of him! Saying he should be dumped at a shelter, that it's ""unsanitary,"" and he's ""too big and dangerous"" for the baby. She treated him like garbage —and my husband wouldn't say a word to her. One day, I snapped and threw her out. Went back to cooking, cleaning etc. Then my husband walks in, pale as a sheet, and goes, ""Bear… he's gone."" I FREAKED. We searched all night—nothing. But deep down, I already ...

She Stayed Home Sick That Morning — Then Strangers Came to Her Door

Image
She Stayed Home Sick That Morning — Then Strangers Came to Her Door On September 21, 2007, 12-year-old Emily Elizabeth Haddock was home sick from school, recovering from strep throat. She was inside her family's home near Vass, North Carolina, unaware that several young men were moving through the neighborhood looking for houses to burglarize. According to investigators, the group had been breaking into homes, and when they entered Emily's house, they were not expecting anyone to be there. But Emily was inside, alone. What happened next was horrifying. Michael Graham Currie and Sherrod Harrison broke into the home, and Currie shot Emily twice in the head with a .22-caliber handgun. Investigators said the intruders had intended to burglarize the house but were surprised to discover the young girl inside. Later that day, Emily's grandfather stopped by the house to check on her. Instead of finding his granddaughter recovering from an illness, he discovered that she had ...

16 Centimeters" - A Daily Humiliation Inflicted on Heinz's French Female Prisoners

Image
This testimony was recorded in the early 2000s, three years before her death. For 48 years, Noémie Clerveau kept to herself what she experienced in the prisoner camps under the German occupation. Silence was her way of surviving. Speech, her final form of resistance. Without seeking forgiveness, without asking to be judged, she decided to speak because time was running out. Here are the words she carried for a lifetime. Listen to the end and never let this be forgotten. If you search through official archives, you will read reports on hunger, on typhus, on summary executions at the ‘petit mat.’ You will see figures, dates, strategic maps. But the archives are silent about what actually happened when the lights went out in Barrack 4. They do not mention the ritual. The real war, the one that broke our souls long before it broke our bodies, was not played out with cannons or aerial bombardments. It was played out in a terrifying silence, inside a sterile room, under the clinical g...

“The Forgotten Photograph: A Glimpse Into the Shadows of Nazi Cruelty”

Image
🔺🚨❗ Viewer Discretion Advised: Historical Content — For Awareness and Remembrance  “The Forgotten Photograph: A Glimpse Into the Shadows of Nazi Cruelty” It was an image buried for decades — a photograph taken during the Second World War that would later send chills down the spines of historians. At first glance, it showed what seemed to be a simple scene of prisoners and guards. But behind the frame lay an unspoken story of suffering, courage, and the inhumanity that scarred an entire generation. When experts re-examined it nearly 80 years later, they realized its true value wasn’t in the mystery of the faces, but in what it revealed about history itself — the cold precision of the Nazi regime’s cruelty, the dehumanization of prisoners, and the silent endurance of those trapped in unimaginable circumstances. Historians confirmed that many such photographs, once thought to be propaganda or staged, actually documented moments before or after interrogations at c...

About 100 People Participate in a Lottery to Divide a 12 Acre Plot of Sand Dunes, that would Later become the City of Tel Aviv, 1909

About 100 People Participate in a Lottery to Divide a 12 Acre Plot of Sand Dunes, that would Later become the City of Tel Aviv, 1909 In 1909 a number of Jewish residents decided to move to a healthier environment, outside the crowded and noisy city of Jaffa. They established a company called Ahuzat-Bayit and with the financial assistance of the Jewish National Fund purchased some twelve acres of sand dunes, north of Jaffa. In April, 66 Jewish families gathered on a desolate sand dune to parcel out the land by lottery using seashells. This gathering is considered the official date of the establishment of Tel Aviv. The lottery was organized by Akiva Arye Weiss, president of the building society. Weiss collected 120 seashells on the beach, half of them white and half of them grey. The members’ names were written on the white shells and the plot numbers on the grey shells. A boy drew names from one box of shells and a girl drew plot numbers from the second box. A photographer,...

Deep in one of the most untouched corners of the Congo, a team of researchers set up trail cameras.

Image
Deep in one of the most untouched corners of the Congo, a team of researchers set up trail cameras hoping to spot one of the world’s rarest and most elusive species. The cameras had only been running for a week when the footage came in, and what they found was beyond anything they could have imagined. In the grainy clip, a man appears crawling through the dense jungle beside a massive silverback gorilla.  See Video Clip On his back, a baby gorilla clings to him tightly, not out of fear, but with the kind of trust only found within a family. At first, researchers thought it had to be a hoax. But experts analyzing the video now believe this could be the same boy who vanished from a nearby village years ago, presumed lost forever. “The way the troop moves with him, they accept him,” one researcher said. “For a baby to ride on his back like that, it means he’s one of them.

I Thought I Knew My Family Until a Camera from a Flea Market Showed Me the Truth — Story of the Day

Image
I love flea markets. I always find little treasures. But this one? It changed everything... I found an old camera with film still inside! On a whim, I took it to get developed. Just curious, you know? When I got the photos back, I nearly dropped them. There I was. In the photo. Clear as day. Same freckles. Same hair. BUT I HAD NO MEMORY OF IT! My hands were shaking as I looked closer... trying to place the moment. And my heart stopped. I Thought I Knew My Family Until a Camera from a Flea Market Showed Me the Truth — Story of the Day I bought an old camera at a flea market just to cheer myself up, then found an undeveloped film inside. When I saw the photo, I had no choice but to confront my mom about a truth she’d buried. I lived in a small apartment with my cat, Waffle, and my Mom. Really, it’s always just been the two of us. Me and her. I studied law, just like she wanted. Got my degree, passed the bar, even started practicing. Advertisement I was always fighting her f...

In 1988, Officer Gary Dockery, a police officer from Walden, Tennessee, was sh*t in the head while responding to a domestic dispute. The g*nshot caused severe brain damage, and he fell into a coma that lasted over seven years.  Then, in February 1996, to everyone’s amazement, Dockery suddenly woke up and began speaking clearly with his family and friends. He recognized his loved ones, recalled old memories, and expressed his love for his sons. Doctors described his brief recovery as nothing short of a medical miracle, as such awakenings after long-term comas are extremely rare. Read more here  Sadly, just 18 hours later, Dockery slipped back into unconsciousness and never woke again. He passed away in 1997 due to complications from pneumonia. His story remains one of the most remarkable and emotional cases of temporary recovery from a prolonged coma in medical history.

She ran him over twice, stepped out of her car, knelt beside him, kissed him — and then st*bbd him nine times

She ran him over twice, stepped out of her car, knelt beside him, kissed him — and then st*bbd him nine times. On May 3, 2024, 20-year-old Karon Fisher fatally attacked 64-year-old Steven Anderson outside his home in Houston, Texas. Anderson had just walked outside to collect his mail when Fisher’s vehicle struck him. Instead of stopping, Fisher reversed, hit him again, and then got out of the car. What followed was captured on a neighbor’s security camera — Fisher straddled Anderson’s body, kissed him, and repeatedly st*bbd him. Witnesses rushed out, one bringing a pillow to try to help the victim, but it was too late. Anderson, a retired manager at a cancer center, was described by neighbors as kind, gentle, and deeply loved in his community. Fisher was arrested the same day and charged with m*rder. Her bond was initially set at $2 million. Later that day, while under evaluation at a hospital, Fisher allegedly assaulted a staff member — and later bit a jailer while in c...

In April 1981, the body of a young white woman was found in a ditch on Greenlee Road in Newton Township, Ohio. She was wearing a buckskin poncho, so investigators called her the "Buckskin Girl." That same day, her body was examined. It was found that she had suffered serious injuries to her head and neck before being strangled to death about 48 hours before her body was found. Despite many years of hard work by investigators, the identity of the Buckskin Girl remained unknown for over 30 years. On April 9, 2018, the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory announced that they had identified the woman as 21-year-old Marcia Lenore King from Little Rock, Arkansas. Marcia had last been seen by her family in 1980. Although she wasn’t officially reported missing, her family had kept searching for her. The identification was made possible by detailed DNA testing. Sadly, the person who caused her death has still not been found.

However, after the funeral, he was surprised to find that she had donated her entire fortune to charity and left him a note saying, "My little dog, Steve... This historic photo has never been edited – have a closer look and try not to gasp when you see it

Image
This historic photo has never been edited – have a closer look and try not to gasp when you see it 😲  Looking back at old Oscars photos, especially from the 1970s, gives me a nostalgic feeling. There’s something almost haunting about those pictures — they bring back memories of a different time, a different America, when the Academy Awards felt truly exciting. Back then, our celebrities had a sense of class, glamour, beauty, and elegance. It’s surprising to see so many amazing stars who are no longer with us, reminding us how short life really is. I used to know every nominee, every movie, and every song. Now, it’s hard for me to keep up. Someone once said the 1975 Oscars were “back when actors and actresses had class and no political agenda.” While that might not be completely true, it does feel like we’ve lost something important over time. Let’s take a look back at the 47th Academy Awards and focus on a particular photo that has sparked lots of discussion recently. What ...

MY 16-YEAR-OLD SON WENT TO STAY WITH HIS GRANDMOTHER FOR THE SUMMER – ONE DAY

Image
MY 16-YEAR-OLD SON WENT TO STAY WITH HIS GRANDMOTHER FOR THE SUMMER – ONE DAY, I GOT A CALL FROM HER, AND HER FIRST WORDS WERE, "PLEASE, SAVE ME FROM HIM!" So, for the first time ever, my son actually asked to spend the summer with my mom — all by himself! This was a huge surprise, given that he's usually not interested in going to her place or spending time in her small town. My mom is disabled, and I pay for a caregiver to help her every day. She refuses to live with us or move into a senior home. My son even offered to take care of her himself, saying I could give the caregiver a break. "Maybe he's finally becoming responsible?" I thought. The first week went fine, and he was sweet on the phone, but I noticed that anytime I asked to speak with my mom, he'd say she was busy or asleep. Then came the scary part. I got a call from my son's number — but it was my mom's voice whispering, "Please, come save me from him!" be...

That was the sentence a German commander gave me when I was sixteen years old.

Image
“You have three choices.” That was the sentence a German commander gave me when I was sixteen years old. None of them let me remain innocent. My name is Arianne Davaux. I am 82 years old now. I live quietly near Chalon-sur-Saône, in a small house with a garden full of hydrangeas. To the people who pass by, I am just an old woman who smiles politely and keeps to herself. They don’t know that I have carried two deaths inside me for nearly eight decades. They don’t know that in 1943, I learned that hell doesn’t need fire. It only needs a man who smiles… and offers you water before destroying you. I never told this story to my children. I never told it to my husband before he died. I buried it deep, like a body no one was meant to find. But now, sitting alone in this silent house, I know something: If I die without speaking, the truth dies with me. People often believe the horrors of World War II happened far away — on battlefields, in camps with names they learned from books. They ...
