13-Year-Old Fights Back After Father Allegedly Tries to Strangle His Mother
On March 10, 2026 at 8:00 p.m., deputies responded to a residence off Underwood Road in Foley, Alabama after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance.
Investigators said the incident began during an argument between a husband and wife inside the home.
Authorities identified the suspect as Daniel Hernandez-Lopez.
According to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Hernandez-Lopez allegedly attempted to strangle his wife during the dispute.
Investigators said Hernandez-Lopez then went outside where he was confronted by the couple’s 13-year-old son.
Authorities said Hernandez-Lopez allegedly lunged at the teen and attempted to strike him with a bicycle.
The sheriff’s office said the teen then punched Hernandez-Lopez several times in the face, possibly knocking him unconscious until deputies arrived.
Deputies reported Hernandez-Lopez appeared to be highly intoxicated and possibly under the influence of narcotics at the time of the incident.
Hernandez-Lopez was taken into custody and booked into the Baldwin County Jail.
He is charged with domestic violence strangulation.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
