In 2015, an Indiana man named Jason Worley found out his wife had been cheating on him with their neighbor

In 2015, an Indiana man named Jason Worley found out his wife had been cheating on him with their neighbor. Jason's wife, Brandi, blamed him for the affair. She claimed his absence made him feel lonely, as Jason was working more than 60 hours a week to provide for his family.

After more than a year, he came on Reddit and shared his story, stating how devastated his wife's affair had left him. The post went viral, and Redditors advised him to divorce her.

Jason finally filed for divorce, and Brandi swore he would never have custody of their children.

On November 17, 2016, Brandi Worley stabbed her seven-year-old son and her three-year-old daughter before calmly calling 911.
"I just stabbed myself and I killed my two children."
She has been sentenced to life in prison.

Brandi Worley Murdered Her Two Children After Her Husband ASked For a Divorce

The horrifying case of Brandi Worley
On November 17, 2016, a day after her husband Jason Worley filed for divorce, Brandi Worley brutally murdered her two children, Tyler and Charlee, in the family home. Jason slept in the basement as Brandi repeatedly stabbed their children in the neck and then stabbed herself.

Worley dialed 911 and stated casually,“I just stabbed myself and I killed my two children.”  Brandy's mother arrived at the scene after Brandi called her. The screams of the children's grandma awoke Jason, who was asleep in the basement. Now you can't take the children away from me," Brandi said emotionlessly to Jason.

The Inside Story

Jason and Brandi Worley's marriage had been strained for some time. For the sake of the children, the couple decided against separating.

Ultimately, Jason uncovered Brandi's infidelity with their neighbor, and this was the final straw he was going to take. Jason filed for divorce from Brandi after he made a Reddit post explaining the how his wife's infidelity had left him devastated and many redditors advised him to divorce her.
The beginning of his reddit post red:

"So to go back to the beginning I had just taken on a new project and new responsibilities at work. I was working a lot of hours (60+ per week) and was noticeably stressed. It was in May of 2015 that I noticed that she had added a password to her phone.
When confronted about it she told me it was because she was planning my Father's Day present and didn't want me to ruin the surprise. About a week later she came to me and told me that she felt guilty keeping a big secret from me and told me that she was having our neighbor, a contractor, build a home office for me as my present. It struck me as odd as in our 6 years together she has never said she felt guilty about anything and always insists that she never regrets anything in her life."

Brandi could not bear the notion of her husband abandoning her. She arrived home in the evening after taking Charlee to dance practice and informed Jason that she needed to purchase pipe cleaners. She went to the store instead and returned with a sharp combat knife.
Once Jason and the children had gone to bed, she returned home. Brandi rushed upstairs and fatally stabbed Charlee and Tyler in the necks. She then turned the knife on herself but lacked the strength to commit suicide.
Brandi then dialed 911 and provided a frightening confession.

Brandi then contacted her mother, who immediately came to the Worley residence. Only Brandi's mother's screams woke Jason, who was sleeping downstairs, to the knowledge that something gravely wrong had occurred. Brandi calmly told Jason, "You cannot take the children from me."

Authorities and paramedics rushed to the area and discovered the two deceased youngsters. The bodies were discovered in Charlee's bedroom wrapped in blankets with a bloody combat knife nearby. Brandi was quietly seated in the living room with a stab wound to her neck.
Brandi told paramedics that she wished to die with her children. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she eventually recovered completely.

REACTION OF THE COMMUNITY TO THE MURDER OF CHARLEE AND TYLER WORLEY

After his wife Brandi Worley viciously murdered their children, the Darlington town rallied around Jason and his family. A funeral was held in the Darlington Community Center, with the community raising $50,000 on a GoFundMe page to assist with costs.

Tyler and Charlee Worley were buried in Darlington's Green-lawn Cemetery.

BRANDI WORLEY'S SENTENCING

After being discharged from the hospital, Brandi Worley was transported to the Montgomery County Prison and charged with two charges of murder. Brandi first pleaded not guilty to the murder charges in an effort to present a defense of insanity. She was ordered to undergo a mental evaluation and return the following year for a competency hearing.
Brandi changed her mind prior to the court and decided to plead guilty to the killings. She was granted the option to speak at her sentence, but she declined.
Brandi in court

Brandi Worley has shown no regret for the murder of her children. Since receiving a diagnosis of depression, she has remained emotionless.
Judge Harry Siamas imposed a 120-year prison term on Brandi Worley. Everyone was searching for an explanation for the senseless murders of children, he noted, adding that it was exceedingly unusual for a mother to kill her own child. "There is no explanation sometimes," he remarked. "Darkness pervades the globe... And it reaches our thoughts and hearts."
