Fritz Honka, who worked as a night watchman, was caught returning from work following bodies found following a fire in the 1975 apartment where his home was. 

Honka, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison, which was the heaviest punishment in German law at that time, was released again in 1993 and changed his name to Peter Jensen and began to spend his life in the nursing home where he was under supervision. Honka died on October 19, 1998, at the age of 63, in a hospital in Hamburg Langenhorn.
