This picture looks like a normal dad with his little girl smiling for the camera. But it’s actually one of the most horrifying true stories in America.


The man is Franklin Delano Floyd. The little girl is Suzanne Marie Sevakis, a child he stole back in the 1970s when she was only a few years old.

After kidnapping her, Floyd wiped away who she really was. He gave her new names, moved her all over the country, and pretended she was his daughter. She never had a chance to be herself.



As she grew up, he forced her to be his girlfriend, then his wife under fake names. They even had a baby boy together named Michael.

In 1990 Suzanne finally tried to run away with her son and get free. She didn’t make it. Someone found her badly hurt on the side of the road, and she died in the hospital soon after.

Little Michael went to foster care and got adopted by a new family. Then in 1994 Floyd stole him back. Michael has never been seen again.

This happy-looking photo is all that’s left of a girl who lost everything—her real name, her childhood, her freedom, and finally her life.

Despite many years of hard work by investigators, the identity of the Buckskin Girl remained unknown for over 30 years.
