Man Convicted for Beating 8-Month-Old. 

A 26-year-old man from Warren, Michigan, named Vincent Zappa, was sentenced to between 18 and 30 years in prison after a jury found him guilty for the severe beating of his girlfriend's 8-month-old son.

The incident went down on October 23, 2024, while Zappa was watching the baby at a home in the Detroit suburb. 



The child's mother was out at work when Zappa called 911, reporting that the infant wasn't acting right. Emergency crews rushed the boy to a hospital in critical condition, where doctors discovered a subdural hematoma leading to brain bleeding, more than 100 retinal hemorrhages in each eye, widespread bruising on the head, neck, and chest, plus blood coming from the mouth.

The case moved through Macomb County Circuit Court, where a two-week trial wrapped up with the jury taking just one day to convict Zappa.
