Photo from August 4, 2021, shows Luis Fernando Cevallos and Alexis Rodriguez after being pulled over for reckless driving. It was their first and only date. Just 15 minutes later, they collided with a tractor-trailer and were killed instantly.

During the stop, Rodriguez mentioned it was her fault they were out, but the officer cautioned that if a crash happened, it would be on the driver, urging them to get home safely.

Just 15 minutes later, at about 2:13 a.m., the same car collided at high speed with a tractor-trailer on Routes 1 & 9, the impact shearing off the roof and killing both instantly.

When Officer Nunez arrived at the scene, he recognized the mangled vehicle from the earlier stop and was visibly shaken, exclaiming in disbelief.

Bodycam footage of both the stop and the officer’s reaction later went viral, sparking widespread grief and online discussion about the dangers of speeding and reckless driving.

On April 16, 1947, Rudolf Höss was executed in the old field of Auschwitz I, in occupied Poland. As the founder and first commander of the Auschwitz complex, he had overseen one of the largest mass killing systems of the Holocaust during World War II.   After Germany’s defeat, Höss was captured by British forces in 1946. He later testified at the Nuremberg Trials before being tried by the National Supreme Court of Poland.  The court found him guilty of crimes against humanity and sentenced him to death.   His execution was carried out beside the ruins of the old Gestapo building, only a few meters from the villa where he had lived with his family while the extermination complex was in operation. In April 1981, the body of a young white woman was found in a ditch on Greenlee Road in Newton Township, Ohio. She was wearing a buckskin poncho, so investigators called her the "Buckskin Girl." That same day, her body was examined. It was found that she had suffered serious injuries to her head and neck before being strangled to death about 48 hours before her body was found. Despite many years of hard work by investigators, the identity of the Buckskin Girl remained unknown for over 30 years. On April 9, 2018, the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory announced that they had identified the woman as 21-year-old Marcia Lenore King from Little Rock, Arkansas. Marcia had last been seen by her family in 1980. Although she wasn’t officially reported missing, her family had kept searching for her. The identification was made possible by detailed DNA testing.
