Before tragically taking her own life in 2025, 10-year-old Liberty Hall wrote this note expressing love and apologizing to her mother.

Liberty Rowan Hall, 10, of Mt. Sterling, KY passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital Mt. Sterling, KY.  She was born September 30, 2014 in Mt. Sterling, KY to Alex Gregory Hall and Kayla Cantrell Hall.  She attended Redeeming Grace Church in Morehead, KY. Liberty loved being with her friends, cousins, and loved ones.

She was hilarious and loved making people laugh.  Her favorite things were making masks, jewelry, tails, and costumes.  She made everything a little more fun with glitter, googly eyes, and paint.  She was quirky and silly and would make sure anyone who was down was lifted up.  She never found a creature that wasn’t her best friend, but she particularly loved frogs.

She is survived by her parents, Alex Gregory Hall and Kayla Cantrell Hall of Mt. Sterling, KY; brothers, Alex Hall, Jr. of West Milton, OH and Killian Hall of Mt. Sterling, KY; sisters, Lily Hall of West Milton, OH and Lexie Hall of Mt. Sterling, KY; maternal grandparents, Sammy and Debbie Cantrell of West Liberty, KY; paternal grandparents, William and Tammy Mills of Dayton, OH and Kimberly Hall of Dayton, OH; and paternal great grandparents, General Lee and Jeanette Mills of New Carlisle, OH.

She is preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents, Woody Cantrell, Vertie Cantrell, Howard “Butch” Hamilton and Fern Hamilton; and paternal great grandparents, Walter and Barbara Hall.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Friday, July 25, 2025 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steven Stanley and John Fry officiating, burial following at Machpelah Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 11 AM-1 PM, Friday, July 25, 2025 at Taul Funeral Home Chapel.  Pallbearers will be Chad Cantrell, William Mills, Robert Jeffcoat, George Romero, Alex Hall, Jr., and Joey Whitt.  Honorary pallbearer will be Killian Hall.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Attn: Michael Swyer, 199 Water Street, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10038.
