 In 1980, an 11-year-old boy from Brookfield, Connecticut named David Glatzel began hearing disturbing noises coming from the attic in his quiet suburban home.

He then claimed to be tormented by a "man with big black eyes, a thin face with animal features and jagged teeth, pointed ears, horns and hoofs," and he became increasingly plagued by inexplicable seizures

Soon, the family called in famed paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who claimed that the boy was possessed by a demon. They even reported that the boy hissed, levitated, and recited passages from "Paradise Lost."

Finally, in October 1980, the fiancée of Glatzel's sister allegedly offered himself to the devil in the boy's place. Months later, the man suddenly committed a grisly murder — and claimed that the devil made him do it. The "devil made me do it" inspired the movie "The Conjuring 3"
